This book was the first book I ever read in English and it took me 2 years to finish it. ^^ Not because it was boring, but because at the time, I really struggled making some time to sit down and read. And, my lifestyle was all over the place and I couldn't stick to finish any books I'd start. Yet, it's been a milestone in my self-discovery journey as I believe this book startled my curiosity on many many other subjects. And give me plenty of tools to get curious about.

What I liked about the book?
Structure : I really appreciated the structure of the book, split into monthly actions, each month adding up on top of the past ones.
The strategies the author is adopting are so diversified that I found the book very accessible and inspiring.
Her scientific search : She really explores the meaning of happiness and joy in our life as it is.
The personalized stories : I loved all of the stories about her home, her family. Sometimes, more than a self-help book, I felt like I was reading a novel. I'd forget she was a real human being!
What I less liked about the book?
Repetitive : Even though I loved the 12 months structure, I sometimes found it repetitive as, everything started in January, keeps being applied in February, and everything in Jan and Feb are being applied in March. etc. I tried to read it twice and restarted it twice, always ending up at the same period, halfway through the year.
Bias of perspective : The perspective comes from someone already having a good life. The privileged angle is not really mentioned but if you're hoping for a book that goes into depth of where happiness come from, in different social classes, you won't find it.
In conclusion, It's an easy and light book to read. Something that can sparkle some fun new ideas to implement in your daily life so you can challenge yourself, get to know yourself better and practice joy, playfulness and even self-love in your daily life. It's also a good book for finding activities or a lifestyle that could feel more aligned with yourself! I would still recommend it!
